Design in Software Mansion
Daniel Wodziczka•Feb 2, 2021•3 min readHello, Software Mansion here, again! You may know us from the React Native community where we actively contribute to open-source and help building tools like Expo. We run a couple of education initiatives, just to mention App.js Conf — an annual React Native & Expo conference, and SWM Academy — a series of free webinars and workshops. But this time, we would like to tell you about an area we haven’t really mentioned before — software design.
During the 8 years of Software Mansion’s presence in the software development market, we have cooperated with many companies, some of which had their own design teams, others sublet creative studios to help, while some had no experience with design whatsoever. We figured out that having our own design team would be both a great opportunity to enrich our cooperation with our existing partners and a big upper-hand in negotiating with new ones.
Meet the “Software Mansion Design Team”
And that’s why almost a year ago we started building our own design team. Today, we work with three designers — Łukasz, Grzegorz, and Daniel, whose combined experience supports our clients whether they need help with business design, user experience, or user interface. So here they are:

Łukasz— UX / Business Designer
Enjoys finding, analyzing, and solving all kinds of problems. He pursuits his dream by designing innovative products and services. Łukasz has worked mostly on consumer-facing and research projects and he is an author of four patents in the field of human-computer interaction.

Grzegorz— UI / UX Designer
Passionate about solving users’ problems, his design-goal is to understand people's behaviors to make their life easier. He is not afraid of any design challenges, so he took up an opportunity to shape young designers’ minds, and now he teaches design at a university. He has spent half his life creating great dashboards — if you need one, Grzegorz is here to rock it.

Daniel — UI / Visual Designer
The youngest player in our company, responsible mainly for the visual side of projects. Despite his age, he has a lot of experience and a huge base of design and non-design skills. He has so many hobbies and interests that we would have reached the character limit to list them, seriously.
The benefits of having designers in-house
As you know, we are a software house and we work with startups. Thanks to having our in-house design team, we are able to help our clients at literally every stage of project development — starting from the raw idea and ending with the expansion of a working project.
SWM Design Team works closely with our developers, which allows us to maximize the effectiveness of both teams and increase the quality of our solutions.
Now, that we have the designers in-house we can start working with clients on any stage of the product development, which simply increases the reach of our projects.
The SWM design team’s journey has only just begun.
We started modestly with 3 designers, but all indications are that this number will only grow over time.
